Is texting free on iPhone 5?
I want to text my friend but on my old cell phone (not an iPhone btw) my mom said that she had to pay a $200 bill because I overtexted and even showed me the paper so I'm not allowed to text anymore. But now I have an iPhone 5 and I heard it has unlimited texting that doesn't even cost a cent. Is that true?
Only if you're on a contract which gives you unlimited free texts. You'd have to check what your contract gives you.
It all depends on the phone plan you have. Do you have ulmited texting with your phone plan or do you only get a certain amount? You would know this by looking at the phone bill, it will say you have 750 minutes and unlimited texting for example. Ask your mom, call the phone carrier or check the bill. Chances are, if you have unlimited texting then yes its free
No, that is not true. But in IOS 5, apple integrated an imessage feature. So basically you can text other iphones, ipod touches, and macs for free, bot not other phones like blackberry, android, or windows.
You can text ppl w/ iOS for free (from what I'm aware of), they need to have ver.iOS 5 and above, you can text them via iMessages (If you also own a mac, you can receive texts in there as well). For me it's working for free only using my friends with iOS's mail, but they are receiving it to their iOS.

I noticed that between my friends I get blue texts to iPhones, and green to non-iPhones(usually they receive almost instantly). What really bugs me is that between my immediate family are all green texts. We all have iPhones and even on the same Wi-Fi house connection, texts take forever to reach and appear green. All our phones should and better be on the same account (sprint) What's the issue?
