Is there any fees when buying an iPhone?

I'm planning to get an iPhone from Verizon and the iPhone 4 is $99.99 with the 2 year contract. If I get the 2 year contract will I only have to pay $99.99 or is there any fees? If there's please tell me about how much will it be. (not the plans just how much to walk out the door with it) Thanks!

$35 activation fee, $90 monthly charge with unlimited talk and text with 1gb of internet. You can surely downgrade the unlimited things if you want to save money. IPhone 4 with plan is not at all cheap.

Activation and plan. Also with no credit you will need a $500-$750 deposit.

It is include your 2 year plan obviously.

  • Shipping from USA to Canada. Any fees or restrictions? I was just wondering how export from USA to Canada works… For example, if I'd like to send an iPhone by post from USA to Canada, would there be any additional custom fees or anything?
  • Is there any risk in buying an unlocked iPhone? I'm out of contract with AT&T, with a 3Gs. My son tells me I should buy an unlocked 4s from a private party to preserve my unlimited data plan. Aside from taking the usual precautions for a high dollar private transaction, are there other concerns? If I walked into an Apple store with a question about using the phone, could they tell its status, and if so what could they do to me? Also, is unlocking a phone the same as jail-breaking it?
