Is this a crime (against the law)?
So basically i bought an iphone 5 off my 'friend' for £350, she said the phone was unlocked, when actually it was locked to 02. I need the phone to be on orange as i have a sim on contract for 2 years. She basically sold me phone with false essential information. - what do i do?
Added (1). NOWHERE unlocks iphone 5's. One person said he would do it. For £130!
No receipt, no money. That's why it is important to buy off known well company's and to keep receipts.
Take your phone to a friendly asain phone shop ask them to unlock your iPhone 5.it'll cost about £10 then tel your friend she owes u a drink: D
Police may look it is as theft - walk it through.
Friend has sold you a phone saying it was unlocked when they knew it was locked to O2, this could be classed as "dishonestley taking someone else property (your money in this case) with the intention of permenantly depriving you of the money"
If money is property then the offence is complete. As you have the phone in hand it would be hard to prove you paid any money for it, as you won't have receipts etc.
It is more your word against your friends which the police can't do much about.
- What will moores law look like in another 40 years? Yes, I have heard that it is going to break down in another 10 years but if it dosen't, where do you see More's law in another 40 or 50 years into the future? It seems like we have come a long way from the Apple II to the iPhone 5. Also if More's law does break down in another 10 years, what might technology look like then? And for people who don't know: Moores law refers to the doubling of Transistors every two years.
- What will happen if I break my Probation for the same crime? I just got put on probation for the theft f an iPhone 5, and I just stole an iPhone 4S a month after that and the police came to my house and got the iPhone from me. So, I was wondering if I did break my probation, what will happen to me? I had a six month probation.
- What tool does law enforcement use to unlock iPhones? I heard that in iOS8, the data is encrypted so that law enforcement can't unlock iPhones, but my friend in high school got his phone taken away, and the school was able to unlock his phone even though he was on iOS 8. Also what tool do they use to do this, and how come it is still possible for law enforcement to unlock iPhone?
- Is talking on your cell phone (not texting) while driving against the law? I have a head set with a speaker that covers only one ear. I can hear everything else with my other ear while using my cell phone (not Iphone). Is this legal?
