Is this considered welfare fraud (read description)?
I activated my iPhone on t-mobile about two weeks ago and I'm getting calls/text meant for the previous owner, I'm just now getting them.
I received a call from a number I didn't recognize, so I didn't answer. A quick google search came up with the Orange County Florida WIC office (I live in neighboring county). On December 1st, I received a text message that the person had money deposited on to their SNAP card. A few hours later, I received another text showing they spent 66.5% of the money they received at Foot Locker.
I'm not sure if I should report them considering the following:
1. They could afford to spend that much at Foot Locker and receive SNAP.
2. They couldn't keep their phone active (or at least take the number off their bank account if they were getting rid of the number), phones are now cheap to maintain if you do your research and go prepaid.
3. If you are allowed to use your SNAP benefits for clothing, shoes or sporting gear, there are cheaper places than Foot Locker.
Added (1). Janet: Since when was it legal or right to spend SNAP benefits (which is Food Stamps) on expensive stuff at Foot Locker? Are you saying we should allow every one to get on SNAP and spend tax payer dollars on stuff like that? SNAP is meant for helping people until they get back on their feet, not shopping sprees.
Change your number. It should be free.
There's lots of welfare fraud. Not sure if/ how you'ld report it.
That's not fraud. You don't get to tell people where/how they spend those benefits. Nothing they've done is remotely illegal.
You're such a smart guy, you should know its free to change your number.

- Use IMEI blocked iPhone on another carrier? (Read description first)? The phone was legitimately purchased by me at GameStop. The phone worked for a few seconds and quit on me. By calling 611(the AT&T wireless customer portal), it indicated to me that it's IMEI blocked. I'm using a GoPhone SIM card and was wondering if I could just use T-Mobile instead to use the phone. Edit: I was using an iphone 3G for about a year and then moved my card over to the 4s.
- Should I buy an iPhone 4S or iPhone 5? Read Description? Both are very similar. I lost my 4s recently and I want to know if it would be better to buy another 4s or 5 to use for all 4 years in college. I will be an incoming freshman. Do you think I should spend extra for a minor hardware and software upgrade or get another 4s?
