Is this sale on twitter legit or is he trying to scam me?
I messaged a guy on twitter about iphones he says hes selling. He seemed legit until he said that I had to pay with a vanilla card. I don't understand if this is secure or not. He claims that there's two serial numbers and if i give him one than he will get verification of the payment or something. It sounds to me as if its a scam. Can someone please let me know your thoughts. Also heres a link to my convo.
You can NEVER get a refund from a Vanilla card which is why scammers ask for them. You NEVER buy any phone unless you either buy directly from an Apple store or phone store, OR you can meet the seller in person at the phone store where he has his contract to transfer it to your name right there -- so he can't claim it was stolen later and get it deactivated
With a Vanilla card you won't get anything and can't get your money back. Otherwise it will be a cheap Chinese fake that might look like an iPhone but will not work with the App Store meaning you can't use any apps. Or it will be stolen or reported stolen after you buy it so he can get a new phone from his insurance company
- Twitter SMS & Twitter App Mobile Notifications? I have and Iphone 4, currently up to date, etc etc. When I turn on mobile notifications on twitter I receive both the SMS/404-04 text notification and a push notification from my twitter mobile app. I would prefer to receive the notifications from my app only and not SMS. It would be easier to distinguish tweet from normal texts. Plus The SMS notifications leave my texts list messy. I can't figure out how to do this anywhere. Solutions?
- Trying to unlock iPhone but can't find proper non-scam site? I'm trying to unlock my iPhone 4 locked to Telstra. I bought it on ebay so I don't have contact with the seller. I Can't find a cheaper way to unlock it than the $60 apple solution, I've seen a few sites that have lower prices but I can't be sure of the legitimacy of it. Anyone know a good site with some good rep that can unlock it for cheap? Please!
- Is this apple product I'm trying to buy from Amazon.com a scam? I'm planning to buy a digital av adapter from amazon, and I'm wondering if it is a scam because although the product says "by Apple" it's sold by xsforu. And something Fanszone. http://www.amazon.com/...008ZRQNGK/ Do you think it's okay to buy?
- Is the website 'sendmyiphone.com' a scam or legit site? I got a text message from a local number that said 'You were chosen to test the iPhone 6 and keep it before its released. Enter your info at www.sendmyiphone.com to get it now. Just curious if it's a legit claim or a scam. Would be really cool to test/keep a new phone but don't want to get involved in scams and thieves. Sounds kinda fishy to me. Just getting a second opinion is all.
