Jarvis and future AI systems?

I don't know if you have seen any of the Iron Man movies, but if you have then you will know what Jarvis is, he is basically Tony Starks personal AI system and concierge, and he does virtually everything in Tony's life that has to do with technology(other than actually building things). If an actual AI system like this existed, would anybody actually buy it? Or would it be a bit of a flop(basically just a fancy toy). And if that is the case, what changes do you think would have to be made in order for it to be a legitimately helpful system worth buying?

In the comic books Jarvis was a human being who served Stark and Avengers Mansion. At some point I think they (the comic book creators) killed him off and replaced him with AI.

If JARVIS actually existed, as capable as he is in the Iron Man films (sarcasm included)?\

Of course people would buy it. He'd be a major step up from the iPhone's Siri, whose popularity I'm sure has long since faded away. You've heard of that recent film, Her, with Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlet Johansson in the titular role? Even though she wasn't nearly as capable as JARVIS, the character still had plenty of appeal. Combine that with enough AI to challenge IBM's WATSON (Spelling?), and you have the first step in creating a new market: electronic consumer products integrated with JARVIS. Imagine having an argument with your JARVIS-integrated PlayStation 6 about which COD game is better? Or having a vehicle refuse to start the ignition when the driver's too drunk to drive, instead driving to the nearest police station with British smugness.

You might want to tone down JARVIS' dry wit, though…
