Laptop Wi-Fi, password problem?

Okay, let's make this as simple as possible:
-I have a hotspot that I can use on my iPhone 5
-I usually connect to it via my laptop
-I have to change the password, little cousin likes to look into my phone and steal my pass
-I wanted to put a secret space at the end of my password
-It works on phones, but not the laptop
-I enter my password (including the secret space at the end)
-Example: password: abc123 <-- look, a space, after 3.
-It won't connect to my hotspot, because the laptop automatically deletes the space at the end

Is there a solution? No, it's not alcohol.

The character format for a phone is different than a computer character signature. I would resolve this by:
1). Typing the password using the phone into a self addressed e-mail
(note if you have another method to transfer text from one device to another that'll work to).
2). Open the text in the laptop and paste it in notepad.exe
(that's where you will notice the change from device text)
3). If none of the above works I suggest a lock be place on the phone that requires a password just to access it. This may help prevent the person from being able to easily get in the phone without your knowing.

Hope this helps.
