Living in Milano for 3 months?
I will be living in Milano for 3 months due to a medical treatment. I would like to know a bit more about the city.
- I have a US passport. Do I need a medical visa, or a tourist visa, for a 3 months stay? (Don't need to bother with this question if you don't have an idea, I can ask the doctor.)
- Is traveling to Bologna easy from Milano?
- Residentially speaking, where can I stay? Should I rent an apartment for 3 months? Milano is sort of expensive, I believe?
- Should I get an Italian mobile phone number? Can I bring my own iPhone there and get an Italian sim card? Which carrier is the best, and is it a good idea to get a phone number for a 3 months stay? Do public spaces mostly have Wi-Fi?
- What are the places that one must see?
- Finally.AC Milan or Inter Milan?
Grazie mille!
I will try to not be influenced by the fact i hate Milan… I mean, i like a lot more the Como's Lake where i live, with some green, you know.
Ok, let's start from the important: AC Milan (in Italy "Inter" is called only Inter, "Milan" is an english add due to the Sud American Inter). For the Visa issue, i really don't know, but i don't think that will be a problem, just as the sim card, even if probably some like 3, Vodafone or something else can have some special offer.
Near the centre, of course, Milan can be very expensive. Thanks to the underground railway, you can take a place far from the center, with a fast way to go in the centre of the city.
Place to see… I don't know, i don't see anything really nice, but that's my opinion. In the centre there are the Duomo, a gallery with many shop, a castle (castello sforzesco) and a famous street with luxuries shops (Montenapoleone).
- Why are people still working for a living when there's so much free money out there? You're stupid if you don't take what's up for grabs. I'm with my babies daddy but we aren't married, so I can still get single mom benefits which cover our rent, clothing and food. He works 20 hours a week at Applebees and his money goes toward our iPhones, cable tv, beer, tobacco and cigarette tubes and our nights out and we live a really good life. Why work when there's so much for the taking? It's out there, and it's free.
- What is the downside of living in the ghetto on welfare? Trayvon had been had him an iphone, ipad, ipod, MacBook Pro, high speed internet access, and he had a wad of cash on his person after the accident. Any white suburban kid would have exactly the same stuff, so I wonder how bad can being "poor" in America be?
- What apps can make living in New York easier? My sister is moving to New York in a few weeks. She has never been and is somewhat intimidated by the whole change. What can make the transition easier? Ipad or iphone apps are the things I'm actually looking for. Maps, restaurants, discounts, anything goes. Anything you think that will make life easier there?
- I smell burning smell in the living room? My and my cousin and my uncle were home and I was watching tv and charged my iPhone, then I smelt something like a burnt toast, I check other rooms but it was only in living room, my cousin and could also smell it. I took my phone off charger and check any cables on tv but we don't know what it was, they smell has kind of gone now but I'm scared it may get worse
