MacBook doesn't recognise my iphone?
I bought a new charger cable for my iPhone 4. When I connect it with my MacBook Pro, it charges the phone alright, but the computer or the iTunes won't recognise my phone as a device so I can't transfer any data.
Many 3rd party iphone cables can't transfer data. You need to get a genuine Apple cable, that will solve your problem
That's the problem with apple, they want control and then you get things that are not open source so it ruins everything. Everything has to be 'perfect' and expensive. But it doesn't have to be expensive because android phones and windows computers have better hardware inside for a much lower price.
All the accessories have to be genuine because they want your money. With all the other company's it's just a micro usb that's universal so you can have everything connected with the same CHEAP cable from china.

I've tried the hard reset a thousand times and nothing happens. ITunes won't recognize my phone so I can't do a factory reset. Can anyone tell me another way of resetting my phone?

I have just got an iphone 4s off ebay - it specified that it was locked onto the o2 network - i cut my original sim from my blackberry using a micro sim cutter so it would fit the iphone, it's needs to be set up for the first time but it isn't letting me complete the activation as the sim is not being registered. I also ensured that the sim was removed of all pin codes. Why isn't my sim being recognised?
- MacBook Air won't recognise iPhone 5 or USB? I have a MacBook Air that is less than a year old with version OS X 10.8.4. I also have an iPhone 5s and 5c. I have tried to plug in both phones to sync with my laptop and it isn't reading them nor is it charging them like usual. I plugged in my internet dongle and that also didn't read anything. What is wrong? And how can I fix it?
