My 16 year old son won't give us his iPhone password, what can we do about it?

I want to know what he texts to his friends, sort of spy on his thoughts kind of thing. The thing is he bought the phone with money from his job and he pays the bill, it's prepaid. He refuses to hand over his phone or the password. He says if we try to take it away he will defend his property using force. What can I do? I really need to know what's in that phone!

Take electricity from his room.

RANGER SCHOOL!

You are not

At 16 he can't legally enter into a contract. Even a phone contract. You take his birth certificate and your info into the phone company and have them disconnect service.

I would leave hinn alone if you don't want an angry son

Troll alert.

He is 16 y/o, you are the parents (he is the child you are the adult) and he lives in your home. He has two options, hand over the phone right now or you are grounded for life plus you are taking the phone away either way. If push comes to shove use force, if he hits you call the cops. It can be done but both parents have to be on on board. It's ugly, I now, but if you let him dictate who is in charge you will have holly hell to pay for the next 2 years.

  • Why did he give me his password? So my friends and I went on a roadtrip and my guy friend was sitting right behind me and he only told me his password and his best friend. But he knew this other girl longer than he knew me and she kinda got jealous when he told me but I'm really curious why did he give me his iPhone password
  • My son broke his AT&T iPhone? My son is 12 and he dropped his AT&T iPhone 5 while he was playing basketball with friends today, and now the screen's cracked. The phone is over a year old so what's the cheapest way to get it repaired or replaced, with out DIY?
  • Is there any way I can use my deceased father's iphone X even though I don't know his password or his e-mail password? My dad passed away recently. He had a fairly new iPhone X. I'd like to use it as my own phone but I don't know the passcode. I watched a video on how to restore the phone but I still can't use it because the phone is connected to an itunes account… And since i don't know his e-mail password, i can't reset it. I went to AT&T (where we were on a family plan) but they said they can't help me. Is his nearly new phone destined to be a paper weight?
  • How to explain the death of his pet to my son? He's only 10 years old, and the $2500 Gold and Blue Macaw I bought for him on his 7th Christmas died. My son treasured that bird more than he does his iPhone, PS4, or Macbook (and he's a tech wiz). Should I get him another Macaw?
