My iPhone 3G fell into my toilet
About an hour ago my iphone 3g fell into the toilet, without thinking i grabbed it as soon as i could and and didn't know what to do, it was still turned on and was working fine but then i turned it off and tried turning it back on and it was stuck on the apple logo and slowly dimmed out and the screen finally went black, and now it won't completely turn on, I put it into a bag full of rice and used a blow dryer on it for about 5 mins, still won't work, also another main issue is that my iphone charger won't plug into the phone properly, it leaves a gap so it won't fully connect, this has only just happened after it fell in the water, I tried cleaning it out with a pin and got all the dust out and still no use, please help!
Leave it in the rice for longer
I'm really sorry, i don't know the full answer to it. But i just want to let you know that if no one answers this question fully, then call the apple customer service number (you can find it on their website) to see what they think. Or if you don't have a house phone or anybody else that has a phone near you, they have a live chat.
Give up. It is fooked. Once they get wet that's it.
School boy error! You've fried it…
Your an absolute tard, how addicted do you have to be to your phone to take it in the bathroom with you, this is what's wrong with people today, i get called sad for playing skyrim for a few hours a day but phones being taken into the bathroom is somehow the norm
2 ideas. Screw it and buy a phone off craigslist, such as iPhone 4 at $150 to $200. Or go to a Apple store and whine like a kid saying stuff like, "Wow, this phone sucked. Gonna tell how bad it is on internet. " If you have Apple Care you can get another iPhone 3g for free. I say go get another phone off Craigslist or Ebay. I just got a really nice phone called the HTC Inspire for $130 also getting a case for $1.50 and he added for free screen protectors and junk.
You're compounding your errors and have probably permanently screwed it.
You should have left the power state alone once it was turned off. Rinse in fresh water and leave in a bag of rice for a few weeks, not hours.
By trying to turn it on, trying the power adapter you've probably killed it. Claim on your insurance
The bad news: iPhones DO NOT like to be submerged. If drying it out doesn't revive it, it's toast.
The good news: A new iPhone 3GS will be about $1.00 USD… Apple is literally giving them away now.
Edit: It doesn't matter if you had insurance on your phone or Apple Care or any of that stuff. The 3GS is now obsolete enough to be basically worthless and you can get an 8G version new-in-the-box for ONE EFFING DOLLAR. Don't sweat dropping your old and busted iPhone 3G in the toilet.
This has actually happened to someone I know put the phone back in the rice and let it stay there for at 4 to 6 hrs the rice dries up the moisture and helps dry everything out.
- What should I do to make sure my iPhone 4s still works after it fell in the toilet? My iPhone fell in the toilet yesterday and I put it in a bowl of rice for 24 hours. I took it out and charged it and it worked. I want to make sure that it won't glitch and die, so should I keep it in a bowl of rice while charging it for a day? I also noticed that when I was charging it at first, it started heating up… Should I be concerned?
- My phone fell into the toilet lol? The screen has a large water mark and the speakers don't work, but I can talk and listen to music via headphones. Other than that I don't think anything else is broken. I still have a full battery and I didn't put the charger in. I had put it in rice for a day. So is it safe to use it now? Its an iphone SE if it matters
- My iphone fell into the toilet? I took it out right away and put it in rice, overnight, at first it said "overheated" now it works perfectly except that the home button is broken and the screen has dark spots on it, should i leave it in rice a little longer?
- My iPhone fell into the toileT After this, my mother put it onto a radiator and it went really hot. I then put it into some uncooked rice. I'm afraid that the heat may have damaged it as it was working after it had been in the water but it won't now. It just won't turn on. It is now in the rice, will it ever work again?
