My iphone 4 was stolen. IMEI blacklisting?
I heard that i can blacklist it on a website but i need the IMEI number for it. I have the box which lists the number as MEID and on verizon wireless as ENS. However both of them are 14 digits and the website "missingphones.org" requires 15 digits. Why is this happening and how can i find the missing digit? Apple support says "the MEID number uses the first 14 digits, disregarding the last digit."
also, even if i blacklist it, can they still find a way to use it somehow?
i tried finding it through icloud but my phone is listed as "offline." is there any way to turn it on through the web or something?
the weird thing is my iphone was severely cracked and has a passcode so i don't know why anyone would take it. Can thieves still make bank on an extremely cracked phone?
Call Verizon and kill the phone from our contract. Better kiss it goodbye and buy a new one. The thief will fix the screen for 60 bucks and put the phone in restore mode which will bypass the password once he restores it. Then he sells it. Once someone tries to use it at Verizon (if you report it stolen) maybe they will notice its yours because it has the same ID
Its easy to retore a locked phone. Lucky for you they won't see anything, it will be as new. Sadly they can have it fixed through apple for an out of warranty fee & apple had no right to say they stole it. Even if you call in with the imei. They are in no place to make a judjement.
My iPod was stolen so what I did was I went on google and searched find my iPod and you type in your iTunes email address and password and it will locate where your phone is
You shoukd have got the find iphone app! Verizon or att never tell you anything about it, well the same thing happened to me, but i ddint have the app so i had to buy another one what a waste of 800$

- I have a stolen iPhone 5c but I didn't know it was stolen? I bought an iPhone and checked the imei and I found out it was stolen. I can't use it yet because it is stuck in the beginning where it says " please insert a sim card, SIM required" I just want to use it as an iPod since I got it for a good cheap price.
