My IPhone 4s will not import/download folders AT ALL?

I downloaded a bunch of backgrounds for my IPhone last night and this morning I plugged my phone in and it was fine i could remove photos. But when i attempted to copy and paste my photos the paste icon had gone grey. So then I tried e-mailing them and it said 'error while downloading all photos'. So then I tried going onto my OneDrive but they won't show up on my phone! Now I'm trying Dropbox but that's not working either. Also my IPhone folder has gone… Please help. Do i need to go swap for a new phone or get it repaired or is there a simpler and cheaper way to fix this?
