My iphone 5 is locked for Japan KDDI when i bought?
My iphone 5 is locked for Japan KDDI when i bought it, i have been using R Sim since thn and now updated my IOS to 7.1.2. After update i checked my imei on the imei checker to find out whether its still Locked but it says unknown, I tried inserting my sim without my R Sim which says under carrier My current network Dialog,. But when i tried using without R sim it takes me to activation screen, couldnt activate due to unsupported sim please help thanq
The bad thing about using R-Sims is that it's only a temporary unlock that is only good for specific iOS. It's always better to have your Phone Factory Unlocked if you plan on updating your phone. The beauty of a factory unlock is that is permanent and allows you to update as much as you want. The factory unlock is more expensive but it allows you to smoothly use any pop in any GSM SIM without all the clunky hardware (imposer & custom SIM tray) needed for the R SIM and other like it.
