My iphone 5 turns off when I send a text?
So I dropped by phone in water yesterday, so I put it in rice over night with a light shining on it and when I turned it on this morning, all was good. However as soon as I send a text message my phone just turns off, do I need to take the sim card out?
Try resting the phone to defaults
Your Settings may have been corrupted and a full reset will be the ultimate test to know if hardware or software is the problem.
Do what george said and if that doesn't work you might need a new battery
You might have ruined it, overnight is nothing, you should have left it 3 days before trying anything.

When it its off charge, the battery percentage stays the same… The only way to change the battery percentage is to restart the phone.
