That exact thing had happened to me too, my battery had swollen up pushing the screen up and disconnecting a wire or something. It was easily fixed at a repair shop however it cost £60 so it is quite expensive but it is definitely cheaper than buying a new phone
Why bother fixing that?
It is probably a bad LCD. You'll need to get that replaced (the display assembly). You can do it yourself and buy a replacement screen off eBay if you'd like but it is risky. You can also take it to a local phone repair shop or Apple (the most expensive option).
Given the right technician, the right tools, & the right replacement parts, anything can be repaired.
Sounds like it. The display driver is an issue but the rest is fine from the sounds of it. Should contact an Apple Store about it.

I'm less than a month into my new contract for the iphone 7 plus and the phone is already being faulty, the screen goes black more so when the phone is tilted to the side or when on some apps or games and the touchscreen also has become faulty, when locked i can't use the touchscreen at all i have to unlock it, and it also lags sometimes, i've been told to take it into my local O2 store, what exactly will they do replace it or fix it?
