If you backed up your phone using ICLOUD or iTunes then yes
If the phone won't turn on, how are you going to recover those pictures? But if you have iCloud backup, you can find them on your iCloud account. Login to your iCloud account from your computer and find your pics and stuff there. Or if you've bought an iPhone again, you can try restoring the backup on iTunes. Getting those data back only depends on your backup.

I do put my phone in my pocket sometime especially when I'm walking but sometime when I sit down it's in my pocket. Note: I will get a case but which one bends the least?
