My Iphone fell in boiling water, how long do i microwave it?

I had my iphone and it fell into boiling water. My friend told me not to turn it off but to heat it in the microwave. But he didn't tell me how long or the setting to heat it. I was wondering if any of you had my experience and would want to help me.

Putting a cell phone in the microwave would destroy the phone!

Your friend is crazy the phone may catch light and damage the microwave aswell.

Don't put it in the microwave! IPhones are made of metal and even the iPhone 5 is aluminium, neither of which mix well with the microwave. Turn your phone off and put right next to your air vent. It may take a few days, but it needs time to dry out. By the way, if you don't believe me about the metal/aluminium thing, stick a spoon and/or aluminium in the microwave and see what happens (sparks, that's what). My friend dropped my iPhone in a pool and my dad laid it out by the air vent for a week and it dried right up! Hope this helps.

You might explode there buddy.

Ok. Once you take it out of the water As Soon As Possible dry it off with a dry cloth or paper towel and shake it so you can't get as much water as possible. Turn it off and put it in a bowl of DRY rice. Purpose off the dry rice is to absorb all of the water from the Iphone. Leave it in there for about 12-24 hours (really less than that depending on how long it was in water). I don't know about the microwave idea because I have never heard of it but it does not sound that good of an idea to me.

My iTouch when in the washing machine and did it my self i notice when i was putting the clothes in the dryer, took it ou and put it next to the window under the sun for a week and didn't touch it
its working just fine it survive

Put it in rice, it counters boiling water the same way superman did when he reversed the spin of the earth.

Well your friend obvioisly doesn't know that microwaving it will damage it more than boiling water would…

  • What to do if your iPhone fell in water? I tried the blow dryer approach and now I submerged my phone in a container filled with rice. Is there anything else I can try at this point?
  • What do i do, my iphone fell in water I was brushing my teeth while listening to music from my iphone and it fell in the sink and was completely submerged in water for about a few seconds but i got it out quickly. I turned it off right away and put it in a bowl of wild rice (obvously not cooked) because thats what it said online. Did i do the right thing? Does anyone have any better methods? If the rice is the right idea, how long do i leave my phone in it?
  • My iPhone fell into water I took a blow dryer to it, then I soaked it in a bag of rice. It'll turn on when it's plugged into a wall charger, but it says it needs to be connected to iTunes and be restored, so I plugged it into my laptop and it won't turn on.iTunes won't even pick up my phone to sync or ANYTHING. I need help! I left it in the bag of rice OVER 24 hours.
  • My iPhone fell in water, what should I do? Okay, so its not visibly damaged (the screen has no water on it) and it works fine so far. I turned it off and placed it in a sealed bag with rice. What should I do now? There isn't too much water in the phone. How long should I keep it in the bag? I was thinking 3 hours. Is that too short?
