My iphone has water damage? - 1

I dropped my iphone 4 in the sink and it was literally in there for two seconds but none of the speakers work. The phone still works perfectly but i can't even talk on the phone because i can't hear anything. I know the apple insurance that i have doesn't cover water damage but how much would it cost me to have it fixed? Will they give me a whole new phone or just fix it?

You can try to put it in a bowl of white rice overnight, completely covering it. My dads ipod went through the washer and he did this and his ipod works perfect now. No promise's it will work, but you can try. The longer you leave it in the rice the better. My dad left his for like, 2 days.

First I would try putting your phone into a bag with rice. The rice will help absorb the moisture and hopefully save the phone. If it happened awhile ago, it may be too late for that.

If the rice doesn't work, I would call apple support to see if they can fix your phone because fixing it may be cheaper than replacing it. They would probably just fix it, unless it's more expensive than a new phone or they can't. Then you would have to pay to replace the phone.
