My iPhone speaker doesn't make any sound?

I tried different pairs of headphones and no headphones at all but nothing is working. There's no water damage or anything but I have dropped it a few times (the last time was a day or two before the speakers stopped working) its an IPhone 4S(if that matters) i don't have a screen protector and my case is out of the way of the speaker and i know i can probably Get the speaker replaced but I just wanted to know if I HAVE to or if I can clean it out or something

You know the thing on the left side of the phone? The thing that if you push it you can turn your phone on silent? Make sure it's not on silent. Make sure you don't see that red thing!

If headphones aren't working it's not the speaker.

Go through the settings carefully and make sure you don't have something turned down/off.

Chances are when you dropped it, you broke something in it's equivalent of a 'sound card'.

  • Why doesn't my right headphone doesn't make sound? I have the iPhone 7 EarPods (not the Bluetooth ones ) They were working just fine until one day I realized that there was no sound coming out of the right side. I already cleaned it but doesn't work. How do I fix this?
  • Why doesn't my IPhone make sound? I don't have "do not disturb" on, airplane mode is off, I went into the settings and made it so literally everything should be making noise when anything happens, I don't have any "silent times" set. The only thing I haven't tried for it to make sound is throwing it at a wall.
  • Why doesn't my iPhone 4 have any sound unless headphones are in? I accidentally dropped my iPhone in the tub while I was texting (stupid me!) but fortunately it still works! But when I try to turn the volume up or down, it displays itself as "headphones" even though headphones aren't plugged in! And the sound only works when they are!
  • When I sing I sound good in my head but on recording it doesn't sound as good? I understand why this is but I want to know if it is because my iPhone recording quality isn't good. If not how do I actually listen to how others hear me sing.
