My iphone will not connect to itunes after upgrading to ios 6?

I just upgraded my iphone 3gs to ios 6 not sure if it updated but now when i turn on my phone it says automatically that i need to connect it to itunes using the USB port but when i connect it it comes up as new hardware and can't find a program/software for my device even though i have the latest itunes on my computer. I have tried reinstalling itunes but it still can't find my phone and now i can't use my phone as it is stuck on the sync to itunes screen

I actually just updated my iphone as well to 6.0 and then it had asked me to connect my iphone to itunes to which i did and now it won't read my iphone and i'm so scared by pressing restore that my iphone will start a *** storm and ill lose everything and everything will go back to factory settings i do not know what to do let alone i'm not sure what to do anyone else with this issue?

Same here.can't do anything and download times are 3+ hours.keeps shutting down and restarts on its own

  • Will upgrading from iOS 5 to iOS 6 delete ANY data? I want to upgrade my iPhone 4 from iOS 5 to iOS 6 DIRECTLY FROM THE iPHONE using the software update option in Settings >> General. Will doing this delete ANY contacts, emails, apps, notes and calendar reminders? I'm MOST concerned about CONTACTS. I have more than 1000 of Contacts.

  • Upgrading from iOS 5 to iOS 7.1.1? Can I upgrade to iOS 7.1.1 even if iOS 7.1.2 is available? I've downloaded the ipsw for the former and I hate to redownload.
  • SIM Card not supported after upgrading to 5.1.1? I have an iPhone 4 unlocked using Gevey Sim Pro and it was firmware 4.3.3 with baseband 4.10.01 i used snowbreeze to preserver the baseband and then proceeded to upgrade to 5.1.1 from itunes when it said that the SIM card is not supported. It was originally locked to rogers and i unlocked it to use fido. how do i fix this?
