Upgrading from iOS 5 to iOS 7.1.1?
Can I upgrade to iOS 7.1.1 even if iOS 7.1.2 is available? I've downloaded the ipsw for the former and I hate to redownload.
No you can't. Apple has made it so that you can only update to the latest iOS version for your iDevice.
If you have an iPhone 4 on iOS 5, then you have to upgrade to iOS 7.1.2, there's no way around this.
If you had an iPhone 4S on iOS 5, then you have to upgrade to iOS 8.3, you can't choose what version you want. Yes you can upgrade but you can upgrade to latest ios only

- Will upgrading iPhone 4 to iOS 6 completely delete jailbreak? I know it will get rid of jailbreak, which I don't mind at all. However, I have read through different forums that sometimes the jailbreak is never completely deleted because some files still remain in phone. I would not want that to be the case (I might as well not upgrade, I don't want those files possibly causing any performance problems). So, what say you? I want to try iOS 6 on my iPhone 4.
