My laptop can pick up my Wi-Fi, but my iphone can't?

My house has two stories, when i'm downstairs my iphone can pick up my Wi-Fi very fast and easy, and i always get strong signal. Same with my laptop. The only difference is that upstairs or downstairs, my laptop can pick up a good Wi-Fi connection. But its hard for my phone to pick up a signal. I was just wondering why? Also, the second story to my house was added on, the house was originally a one story. I don't know if that makes a difference, but thanks in advance

Thats kinda odd. My guess is the internal antennae of th iphone isn't as good as the one in your laptop. You may want to set up another router in bridge or repeater mode - this acts as a Wi-Fi signal booster. You can pick up very decent routers on amazon for under $25.

The further from the router the weaker the signal. Plus alot of Wi-Fi providers cap the distance on signal so others can't connect on. They would rather others pay as u r.

  • Laptop won't pick up my home wi-fi anymore My laptop (Sony) used to pick up the wi-fi in my apartment fine and a few days ago it just stopped. It says it's connected with "limited connectivity" but the Internet still doesn't work when I try to open a webpage. It picks up wi-fi in other places just fine, but just won't work in my apartment. My roommates' laptops have no problem connecting, and neither does my iPhone. (it is set to automatically pick up IP address).
