My laptop will not connect to Wi-Fi

I have a HP Envy dv6 running on Windows 8 pro & it will not connect to Wi-Fi. It says "Wi-Fi doesn't have a valid IP configuration" every time I try to connect. My iphone & ipad connects just fine. Its only my laptop. I've tried resetting the router & rebooting the computer several time. It allowed me to connect fine with a ethernet cable. I just can't connect wirelessly. Can anybody help?

The TCP/IP settings probably have gotten corrupted (probably due to updates)

In Windows 8 normal mode, can you try:
Open the command prompt as administrator and type the netsh winsock reset and then netsh int ip reset and reboot the PC.
If the problem persist after the reboot, backup your files and Refresh Windows 8

hope this helped.

Enable the Wi-Fi option… After that restart your PC it will be work fine…
