My laptop won't connect to my router/modem?

I'm not sure what the problem is i have had my laptop for a while now and it has connected to my router lots of times. In fact I was just using it yesterday. The problem isn't my modem/router(it's a two-in-one) because I can use the Wi-Fi on my iphone just fine which is why I'm using it to ask for help. So the problem has to e my laptop. It is a toshiba satelite and to be honest i was trying to turn up the brightness on it by pressing FN and F7 when I hit f5 instead which made the screen go black for like a second but then was back to normal. I'm not sure what the problem is with my laptop because I was playing online with it yesterday and never had this issue before. I tried a to fix it myself for a little while bu I don't know what I'm doing. I created a new connection to my router/modem again but it still didn't work. I'm afraid i might mess something up if I keep going and I'm getting frustrated so i decided to come online for help.

Reinstall the drivers of your Wlan and this should get back to normal.

On the Satellite laptop, FN + F5 changes the default screen. This will only be relevant if you have an external screen attached. If you did not have a second screen attached, then when you hit FN + F5 the computer would probably search for a second screen, which is why your screen went black for a few seconds until it failed to find another screen at which point your screen came back on again.

However, pressing FN + F8 does change the selection of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operation. If you caught F8 when you went for the F7 key, then this might have deselected Wi-Fi. Try FN + F8 to see if you can restore your Wi-Fi operation.

The only way I can get any browsing ability on my laptop is to hard-wire it to my router. I've been googling solutions for hours and have gotten no help. My iPad, and my iPhone have had no problems connecting to the internet via the same router. My computer is connected to the router, but it says "No internet access" I would really appreciate help on this issue
