My Wi-Fi won't show up on my computer?

Both of my laptops were working fine and connected to the Internet and then I went out of town and came back & my dad had bought a new router & had the time warner guys come out to set it up, the iPhone's are connected and so is the TV; but BOTH of the laptops will NOT detect my signal at all. It's a Motorola router? I have no clue what to do. I've unplugged it, held the button for 5 minutes, restored my computers, disconnected the tv's and phones, made sure my Wi-Fi switch is on etc.

From personal experience both at home and with friends networks, around 2% to 5% of router/device combinations are not fully compatible. This can vary from the device not even being able to detect the network, to the speed of the connection being slower than it should be or the connection randomly dropping out.

You can either use different wireless adapters with your laptops, change the wireless router to a different make, or add a wireless access point (of a different make from the router) to your network to provide a second wireless network for your laptops. If you set up a second network, use a different network name and a different channel.

By the way, pressing the factory reset button on a router should only be done if you are disposing of the router or you have lost the router's configuration password. Otherwise a simple reboot by removing power for 30 seconds fixes almost all router problems.
