New iPhone charging cable doesn't work?

I just ordered a new iPhone 5. I got the phone and tried to charge it and the cable that was sent did nothing. I used my brother's cable and the phone began charging. The cable is also unresponsive when hooked up to my laptop. If I go to an AT&T store, will they replace this for me?

Also, does anyone know how to make an iPhone 5 play on the iHome iP16? I bought an adapter and I was very sad to find out my new phone wouldn't play through the speakers!

Take it where you bought it and they should replace it free, it won't be an issue.

  • Regardimg charging iphone through laptop via USB cable? This is my issue. When I start my laptop (running Windows Vista), when I plug in my iPhone through USB, I can charge it and access it through iTunes as it should be but as soon as I unplug it, when I replug it the laptop doesn't recognize it and it won't charge at all. When I access device manager, I see a little triangle with an exclamation mark saying error code 10. Any idea how I can fix this issue?

  • My usb cable for iPhone seems to have problem with charging? My usb cable for iPhone seems to have problem with charging - either by charger or via usb port it does not work. But it is recognized by iTunes. Any ideas except of buying another one? No, there's no error message.   • My iphone 5 charger cable doesn't work? So I got my Iphone 5 in December… In March the cord to charge the phone stopped working and wouldnt charge my phone what so ever. I know it was the cord because i borrowed my friends ipad 2 charger and it charged my phone. So i purchased a new one that day and it worked… Until now. The problem has came up again and my phone won't charge. Is it me? Am i somehow plugging the charger in wrong? Is it the phone? I don't get it?
