New to cameras, (I have a Lumix G2)?
So my grandma bought a Panasonic Lumix G2 about 2/3 years ago, took 10 pictures on it at a family dinner and since it has been in its box. She passed it on to me as i take alot of pictures on my iPhone and digital camera. I have been eyeing up one of these types of camara for a while but after getting hands on with one feel completely out of my depth.
The book is a complete headache to me and after searching the web i can't find any videos to show me how it works or what things are/mean.
For example shutter speed and apature or something?
I don't understand what the difference between a RAW and non RAW picture is.
MF/AFC/AFS?
I don't want someone to re-write the manual but if someone could tell me the basics i need to know inorder to take a good picture on it i would be greatful.
AF-C, P-mode, point it, zoom in and press the button (make sure there's an SD card in it first).
Once you get the hang of pointing it the right way, experience - and the manual - will take care of the rest.
One thing you should do is make sure that your resolution is set to its highest, and have fun. This isn't a bad piece of kit.
MF/AFC/AFS = Manual focus, Auto-focus continuous and Auto-focus single shot.
If you are willing to take the time, this link will help you understand how to balance ISO, shutter speed and lens aperture. Learning to use your camera in the manual exposure mode will help you understand the fundamentals of photography much better than if you use your fine camera as an expensive, high resolution point and shoot camera

You may also want to buy a USB 3 card reader so that you can download image files faster at the end of each shooting day, if your computer does not have a card reader on it
- Why is my iphone 4 taking pictures better than a Panasonic lumix? I have a Panasonic lumix dmc-lz8 with a 8 megapixels camera that takes pictures at 2048X1536 resolution and an iphone 4 with 5 megapixels camera that takes pictures at 2592X1936. Why a 5 megapixels camera is better than an 8 one?
- Why do old cameras have awful pic quality although the MP is higher then my phone? So I have an old compact camera with 12.1 MP, which i got around 2010 or 2011. I recently got a charger to charge my old camera to try out cuz I thought it would have a better quality then my iPhone 7 Plus (12MP). But when I tried taking pictures with my old camera it looks like it only have 1MP. I'm so confused because the MP are the same yet the photo quality has such big difference. Any idea why?
- Why are iPhone cameras so shitty? It seems all of my pictures turn out super low-res, is there anything I can do to take better pictures?
- What cameras have similar quality as Iphone 5? I'm looking for a camera for portrait and scenery photos. I really like the quality of my phone, but I would like something with better zoom that I can put a strap on and get a lot closer. Any ideas? It does not need to be super fancy and expensive, just similar to my phone.
