Offer Up: they want their money back?

I listed my iphone 5 on offer up. Someone messaged me with an offer of $200. So, I met the girl and her boyfriend and gave them my phone. They looked it over, checked everything out, and agreed to buy it from me, and gave me $200 cash. They next day, the girl texts me and says "My service provider won't activate the phone, i want my money back". The girls boyfriend texted and said he will be at my practicee and disrupt my practice because they want their money back. DO i have to give it to them? Its not my fault their provider didn't accept the phone.

You are correct that it is not your fault, but sometimes it is better to take the easy way which would be just giving them their money back and avoiding the trouble. People who want to do it can cause a lot of trouble without getting in trouble themselves. If you do give them their money back and try to sell it again you should check out the information here. You probably know this, but just in case you don't, here's the link.

Tell them if they bring the phone back at [time that is convenient for you], you'll give them a refund. You're not just going to take their word for it, and you're not going to let yourself be pressured into doing something stupid because they can't wait to resolve this politely. But yeah, if it's in the condition you gave it to them in, you might as well take it back. Maybe you can get a better offer from someone who's already checked with their service provider.

Actuaully if the phone is locked and you didn't tell them, then yes you should refund them. Make sure you test it when you get it back and that its working fine and doesn't have their ID on it, etc., I would do all that first before refunding.

  • IPhone app games: do they offer to give you game gems if you download dating apps? Clash of Clans, Castle Clash, and Evolve. Does the game offer to give you in game gems or diamonds if you download a dating app that the game promotes? I only ask because a my friends boyfriend claims he downloaded dating apps because the game gave him bonuses and gems. Do these games actually do that or is he totally lying? I have not been able to find the answer online so if you play these games ever can you please tell me if this is true or not?

  • I want my money back from an eBay seller? I purchased an iPhone 6 Plus case 5 days ago. Since then, my item has not been shipped. I went as far as to contact the seller at least 4 times, but I have gotten no respond. I learned I could file a dispute and get my money back at if I do it upon a set date. Can someone please help inform me on this?
