Older car, how to hook up with mp3 auxiliary cable?
I have a 1998 (maybe 1999) Infiniti QX4, and it has a great radio, but the CD and tape player don't work anymore. I'm a student, so I'm on a budget (paying for university and my car myself, and it's a 1500km one-way drive from my hometown to my University and then back that I make every year), so obviously I can't spend a lot since I've gotta worry about gas money, tuition, books, etc. How can I hook up my iphone/ipod to play in my car? I've looked everywhere and I can't really afford a new in dash audio system. I've found some that are like $80, but even then, there's the installation fees.
If I do get the new audio system put in, will it make my centre console look funny or weird? Like will there be big empty spaces where the old audio system was?
Is there any other way to hook my iPhone up? Bluetooth doesn't work.

Added (2). Also the clock is changed using that same console that the radio is connected to, and I will be driving into a different time zone, so I would obviously need the clock access and I do not know if that would be kept if I got a new audio deck.
Well if the CD and tape player don't work isn't that kind of a no-brainer that you would need to replace the stereo anyway? They do make adapters that connect to the rear of the radio with a port for iPhone on the other side but since your unit doesn't work, I don't know if the adapter will. If you get a stereo, the shop will fill all gaps and make it look nice. As long as it has and Aux port or USB port, it'll work.
- What is the best speaker for a car? And MP3/CD Deck for a car? Eventually when I get my main car, I want to get great speakers for my car. I know BestBuy sells most of the speakers for cars. But i'm wondering what good speakers for cars are. Not the brand but what the Best Features are for car speakers. I would also need to get a iPod/iPhone-Ready CD Deck, so I also need to know good brands and features for that.
- Transferring MP3 to iTunes, MP3 not working? I downloaded 40 MP3s in my computer and as usual, I drag them to iTunes so I can connect it to my iPhone. But only 4 were able to transfer. I tried playing the MP3s that didn't work in windows media player but they did not play. They are all MP3 files (the ones that worked and didn't work) how can I make the files play and transfer them to iTunes?
- Problems with auxiliary port in car? I wan play AM and FM radio stations and CD's in my '05 beetle and hear it through all 4 speakers but when I plug in anything in the auxiliary port it plays through the drivers door speaker and through the rear passenger speakers but not the front passenger speaker. I checked to see if the wire just wasn't in all the way on the speaker and the iphone and they were. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
- How to hook up my iphone to my car? I have a ford taurus and it doesn't have a tape player, or anywhere to plug in a cord to connect my phone and the car. Are there any other ways i can connect them?
