Wi-Fi slow on Laptop. Fast with laptop on Ethernet. Fast with iphone on Wi-Fi?

Running an Ookla speedtest (speedtest.net and their iphone app) gets me less than 50ms ping and roughly 6mbps when on my iphone on Wi-Fi or on my laptop on ethernet. Same test in same place gets between 400 and 1200ms ping and less than 1mbps when on my laptop on Wi-Fi. Driver for the laptop's Intel Wi-Fi link 1000 bgn is up to date. Please help.

Added (1). Have tried on all 11 of the wireless channels my router will do. This is a more recent problem that I'm sure wasn't an issue before I moved (and got a different home Wi-Fi network) and I'm is even more recent than that. So for sure its not just that my iphone has a better Wi-Fi radio.

Added (2). router only does 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11b/g

none work better than the others

I want to explain that I'm a politics nerd and that I've always been intrigued by different cultures and governments.

Why can't I remember my iPhone password?

I just got in it today. But then all of sudden after band practice I forgot it.

But then I typed it in later without thinking abt it and then now I can't remember what I typed in.
It's like muscle memory because I don't really think abt typing it whenever I sign in to my phone.

But what can I do to maybe jog my memory? To get it back
