This morning I was working with my iPhone in my shirt pocket listening to music. I did NOT have headphones in. After about 1/2 hour, the sound just cut out.
When I adjust the volume, it shows "headphones" even though I have no headphones plugged in. If I put headphones in, I can hear everything.
I've done some online research and found people suggesting to plug and unplug the ear buds to reset it. Others suggested using a toothpick to remove any lint that may be blocking it inside. I have tried both, and neither worked.
I've tried rebooting. I've tried rebooting with the earbuds plugged in, then removing them. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works.
I set a timer, and when the timer hit 0, the speakers came on and played the music for the timer, but that's it. No other sounds come out of the speakers. While the sound from the timer was playing, I could plug in the ear buds and hear the sound from both the speakers and the ear buds.
So basically I KNOW that the speakers are not "blown out" or anything. The phone simply thinks the headphones are in when they are not.
What can I do to fix this?
