READ EVERYTHING BEFORE ANSWERING: I have AT&T DSL Basic (768kbps).
My AT&T Router/Modem has these times where speeds slow down from my usual 0.60mbps to 0.30-.45mbps for already a year now. I try using Ethernet on my laptop, but it displays the same speed I get when I'm on WiiFi. The slow downs usually stay like that for a week and sometimes they speed back up or either stay like that which I have to unplug the modem and turn it back on.
The router/modem overheats (I already blew a can of air spray cause there was lots of dust that came out). It also tends to disconnect each 10 minutes cause of the overheating.
Where I live, it's 106°. Could the heat cause overheating routers/modems (my house is fresh as we have the ceiling fans on)? If a lot of people are using their AT&T Home Internet around my neighborhood (lots of AT&T Home Internet Wi-Fi users in my neighborhood), could that cause slow downs with my Internet and over loaded networks? Also, does the overheating cause slow downs too? Why does it slow down so much? I can load web pages, but takes 5-10 seconds longer to open web pages. And why is my ping always high.
Things connected to my Wi-Fi daily: iPad mini, iPod touch, my sister's iPhone, sometimes the laptop. But they don't do intensive things. We just check Facebook and Instagram, but I know they don't take up a lot of bandwidth cause my sister is on daily and I do speed tests when she's on IG (loads lots of pics).
