When you download an app then delete it and when you go back to the app in the App Store there's a redownload button instead of a new download button. How do you reset an app so that it looks like you never downloaded it in the first place

So the other day i was on my way to school listening to music on my iPhone 5 and suddenly it started getting extremely hot, like so hot you couldn't hold it. Then a warning came on the screen that said i need to power my phone down because it is too hot. So i did and then i waited till it wasn't hot anymore and turned it back on and it was at 65% when before i turned it off it was at 98%. Then the phone got hot again and the battery percent dropped extremely fast so when i got to school i plugged it in but instead of it charging it, it went down. It recognized that the charger was there but i wouldn't charge. So then it finally died and when i plugged it in i just flashes the apple logo on and off. And i thought it was the battery or something so i bought a new battery and the phone turned on but wouldn't charge so eventually the phone died again and repeats the flashing of the apple logo. This is extremely frustrating and i just want to know what's wrong with this stupid phone.
Five days ago, on Monday, my iPhone 4S stopped being able to connect to any Wi-Fi stations. It couldn't connect for two or three days and then one day suddenly connected again. All my other devices, like my MacBook Pro, Kindle Fire HD etc. Could all connect, apart from my phone. It was able to connect for one day and then just stopped connecting again. I tried three or four Wi-Fi stations but it always came up as "Unable to join the network". I've tried restarting it, resetting the Wi-Fi settings, forgetting the network and manually selecting it, but nothing works. What should I do to get my phone to work again?
(I don't want to go to an Apple Store, unless I MUST go, it can only be a last resort)
My friend uses an iphone and I use a phone of a different brand, does this mean they will not be able to tell if I have read their message? (Like you can with apple products)
My iphone connects just fine to my Wi-Fi but my laptop won't. I plugged the Ethernet cord directly into my laptop and it worked for like a day and now it doesn't anymore. I've reset the modem several times still nothing. I tried setting up a hotspot on my phone and connecting to that it says "windows unable to connect" tried connect to one of my neighbours unsecured networks same message. I don't understand why my computer won't connect to anything please help!
Two years ago I got an iPhone 4 that was supposed to be 8GB, but when I got home and hooked it up to iTunes it said the capacity was only about 6GB. I figured it was a fluke and didn't care that much.
Today I just upgraded to the 5c which was supposed to be 16GB, but the capacity is only 13.25GB… Why does this happen?

I work at a bar and people leave their phones all the time. I had an iphone 4, but it recently broke. I took an iphone 4s that has been at my work for the last 4 months.
I was hoping to use it. The only problem is their is a passcode on the phone. How can I unlock it and wipe it to use it?
