How to force a reboot on a frozen iPhone?

Was trying to update my iPhone to 7.1 and it froze. It has the Apple logo and the progress bar on the screen. I can't turn off the iPhone using any of the buttons on the phone. I have no problem doing a full recovery via iTunes, but I can't do that as the iPhone stays frozen and iTunes doesn't see it. Holding home buttons or power button doesn't do anything.

Have been online looking for solutions for roughly 3 hours and tried many things. This entire time, my iPhone has the Apple logo and the progress bar on the screen. I have no problem resetting everything as I do have a backup, however, I'm not able to get iTunes to recognize the device.

Is there some freeware I can download online that will allow me to do a forced reboot via some software?

Added (1). Hold home+power for 20 seconds. <= does not work

Added (2). ScσττRΛSC, doesn't work either. It i still frozen on the Apple logo with the progress bar.

IPhone Stuck on 'Preparing Update'?

I have an iPhone 4 and want to upgrade to 7.1. The update is on the iPhone and is downloaded, but is stuck on 'Preparing Update'.
I've rebooted the iPhone and nothing has changed.

Might also mention that I'm behind my college's Wi-Fi and it is on a proxy- is an internet connection with no proxy required to complete the update?

How to get songs off my iPhone? - 2

I have an iPhone 5C. I have songs on this phone that I want to delete. It seems that no matter what I do, I can't get rid of them off the phone. I have iTunes installed on my computer and the songs are not there. But I can't seem to get them off my phone. One thing I notice is… Next to each title, is a little cloud. I tried disabling iCloud… But that didn't work. Does anyone have any clues?

Left Earbud on every set of Earbuds keeps cutting out?

Hey guys I have a bit of a dilemma right now, I've searched everywhere to figure this out but I can't find the answer. I was hoping someone could help me! I have the iPhone 5 and it's almost a year old so not very old. On EVERY set of earbuds the left earbud keeps crackling in and out with the song or just goes completely silent. Anyone else have this issue? I've tried blowing into the jack, and the adapter on my lifeproof case. I'm kinda at a loss now.
