Why do iPhone's seem to last longer than Android?

When they're brand new, Android seem to be quicker than iPhone's but over time they seem to slow down and become sluggish at a much faster rate than iPhone's.

I have a Nexus 5 and I love it but I can't help feeling it won't be much longer than a year before it slows down. My dad has the Nexus 4 that he only bought around 11 months ago but it's quite often not as quick as it was - apps take longer to open and even if an app is already running in the background, it'll take longer than it should to open. It's not annoying, just concerning.

Whereas an iPhone 5 (also a year old) seems to fly by like new. A few of my mates have an iPhone 5 that they bought a year ago and almost no sluggishness is evident.

My N5 is amazing but why do Android phones seem to slow down more so than iPhone after a year or so? And is this ALWAYS the case or does it depend on how you look after it?

I want the iPhone 5 S or C, which plan/company really sounds better?

There's Verizon where I pay $200 for the 5S, $100 for the 5C, $100 each month and $2400 over the course of 2 years.

Then Straight Talk, where I pay $650 for the 5S, $550 for the 5C, $45 each month and $1080 over the course of 2 years. If I don't pay month to month and only pay every 6 months, I'd end up paying just $1000 over the course of 2 years. Which isn't much, I know.

Also Boost Mobile, where I pay $550 for the 5S, $450 for the 5C, $50 each month (every 6 months it goes down $5) and $1020 over the course of 2 years.

My biggest concern is coverage 1st, price 2nd. I can afford all three of these options. Which sounds better and which company have you heard better reviews about?

Broken iphone 4 lock button? - 1

So the lock button on my phone appears to be working without me touching it. It hung up my calls, keeps locking my phone, and even going to the "slide to power off" screen. I also can't seem to use the volume keys. It could be slight water damage, the phone was never fully submerged but it got some drizzle on it.

I have a mobile samsung flip phone, it has service and a sim card obviously. However, I also have an iPhone 4, which has no service.
Am I able to take the tmobile sim card from my samsung, create a microsim out of that, and transfer that to my iPhone 4 and get full service on my iPhone?
I want to start messaging, making calls and all on my iPhone 4, along with updating it to iOS 7.

How to unlock iPhone without iTunes?

So, people say that it's good to change your passcode every once in a while. I have an iPhone 1st gen. It's not connected to a network. I've just kept it as a backup phone and for games. I changed the passcode a couple months ago and I haven't messed with it since then. I forgot the passcode though! Is there a way for me to unlock it without using iTunes like some people have told me to do? I don't want to have to go through a bunch of stuff to get a "professional" to do it for me. Just trying to see if there's a simple way for me to do it.

What was the last thing you bought other than food or drink?

I'm trying to understand what people buy other than food and drink as what I see on the news all the time that no one has money but someone mush be buying something? Well the last thing I bought was a phone changer as the iphone 5 chargers always break.
