I'm buying a phone from my friend, its a iphone 4s, and its on a at&t plan, but she has not paid the bill so they are canceling her plan. Will i be able to unlock the phone to a virgin mobile prepaid plan, and how would i do that if i can?

So it's just about that time for me where I have to start choosing colleges & I'm not sure which one i should go to.(graduating early). I wanna work for the government (CIA or something similar ) but I'm also unsure if that life style is for me? I have time to think about it but I'm still unsure… What are some negative and positive things of that career choice? A lot of my family is in the military and said its a very possible job but would take a lot of dedication which I have (I'm already really fit, I know a foreign language &my gpa is 3.8) … Plus it would be cool to travel outside of the US and yes I know it's not like action movies (it's more analyzing my mom says its a job hat requires a lot of responsibility and ect. I get it ) also please excuse my errors typing wise (typing fast and new iPhone so.)
I need to know if i can get the old ios 6 lockscreen because activator doesn't seem to work on lockscreen, i have on my my iphone 5 ios 6 and its jailbroken, i set up activator on lockscreen as slide left or right to go to next track or previous track, but it seem this functionality isn't working in ios7 because if you swipe anywhere on the lockscreen u unlock the device.

So yesturday I was on my phone as usual and it hadn't shown any signs of damage because I haven't done anything for it to be damaged its always in a case, never put it near water or anything but yesturday I looked away for 2 seconds look back at my phone and the screen just starts to slowly fade away lines were all down my screen and it faded from the top to the bottom, I switched it off quickly before it had reached the bottom and now it will not turn on, when I put it on charge I get no response from the phone but the top of the logic board near the camera heats up really hot like I can't touch it, it gets that hot buf only when on charge, can anybody tell me the problem and how i can fix it, I don't have the money to buy a brand new phone and I currently am stuck without a phone, I can't take it to apple because its out of warrenty and they will tell me I have to pay for a new one!
