Is jailbreaking an iPhone 4s the same as unlocking (supposedly illegal now)?

I'm an Android user so if I'm not using the correct terms then I apologize.
I've read that jailbreaking an iPhone 4s has it's advantages. So is jailbreaking similar to unlocking or to rooting (Android)?
Also, if an iPhone is "jailbroken" can it be updated to iOS 7 or does it have to be returned to its original state?

Is it true you can get an iPhone 4 when you switch to Verizon?

So I was watching a video and this guy mentioned that if you switch your network to Verizon you can get a variety of phones including the iPhone 4. I want to check if this is true because i have an iPod 4th Gen but it's so destroyed. (cracked screen and jammed power button) My mom says that if I find out that this is true she'll switch from Cricket to Verizon and give me that iPhone.

Iphone alert sound not working?

My sound was working all day. Then when i tried to play a video i noticed that the volume at the bottom disappeared. So when i went to play music it also disappeared. When i press the play button no sound comes from the speaker. But when i talk to siri its perfectly mine. Also when i get text messages it vibrates instead of a sound. & no my phone is not on virbrate. I rebooted my phone, reset all my settings & i also restored my phone. Still no sound when i try to play music or receive alerts. Any advice?

Music on iPhone either skips or does not play at all?

I've had several different iPhones for 3 years now. During the 2nd year of my 3GS contract, my music on my phone began to skip randomly or not play at all. This wasn't on all songs, but happened to most. I then took my 3GS in and had it swapped, but the problem still continued! As I couldn't be bothered with the hassle, I chose to leave it as I would be upgrading within a few months. My contract ended in November 2012 and I then got an iPhone 5. As it was a brand new phone, I thought there wouldn't be an issue with the music, but it still continued! I figured if I went and swapped my phone again the problem would still persist so I have not bothered. All of the songs are bought from iTunes directly or either from an album off my computer. None are illegally downloaded. Sometimes when buying a song from iTunes, it will work for about a week then either start skipping or not playing at all! It seems that it isn't a problem with the device but the actual software I'm carrying. Any suggestions?

Why aren't my iphone photos importing into my pc?

I plug in my iPhone to my computer, and the windows scanner would always pop up, and for some reason it isn't popping up anymore, what could have happened? I need to get import all these photos -.

How to get my iPhone 4 to turn on

My iphone 4 will not turn on. It's stuck on the screen with the Apple logo that pops up when your phone is turning on (black bacground, white apple logo). I deleted and re-downloaded the Instagram app and it was taking FOREVER to load. So I turned off my phone. Now its not turning on and is stuck on that screen.

Having an iPhone and an iPad?

I have an iPhone, but I also really want an iPad (don't call me spoiled, I bought my own iPhone and I would buy the iPad if I got it!)

But I feel like maybe there's no point in having an iPad when I already have an iPhone, like pretty much anything the iPad can do so can the iPhone.

Do you think there's any reasons to get an iPad as well as an iPhone? Why do you think people get both?

End of the school year, bored?

Alright so a couple weeks ago when I was in school I couldn't wait for there to be no school and now it's summer. I'm done doing social networking because I absolutely hate it and that was all I ever used to do on my iPhone and iPad and now even those can't keep my attention. I'm not real sure what to do or use them for, I have NO need for them. I know I'll be running this summer so ill use the phone for music and stuff, but what else will I do during the day besides sit around or clean? I was thinking maybe I could do something productive and not waste my summer. Maybe get familiar with basic chemistry since that's a class ill be taking next school year? I'm open to any and all suggestions. I'm not your average teen. I like to make something of myself and be useful for stuff.
