I'm going into the military and didn't know if I should just leave it on the charger or let it die. Also will I still get texts and stuff if I say have it dead it june and then in august I turn it all will I get bombarded with texts? Will it hurt my phone if I leave it on the charger for 2 months straight?
This fall, I will be a first year college student. Currently, I have an iPhone 3GS and it is on the verge of becoming useless. I will need to buy a laptop for school.
Sorry if I sound so pretentious, but I need to be frugal with my money, it's one or the other. The iPhone being $700, I could purchase a cheaper laptop around $500, but I would have to install Norton on it ad it may not last throughout college (4 year degree).
The laptop (13") being around $1200, I may get a 'student deal' of $50 off, and I could just purchase a cheaper phone - having a reliable laptop.
I need some opinions, I would really like to have a phone that has amazing camera quality, but it would be great to have a laptop that would last me 4 years and is light to carry around campus.

I'm wanting to make a project which I take a 4 pack of AA batteries and use them to charge USB. I'm going to put this in an Altoids box (because I can. And so I did a LOTT of research the past few days.So, I got 6v with the 4 batteries, and a USB outputs 5v DC. So I need a regulator (LM 7805) to bring it down. But I also heard that USB also outputs 2v to tell the charging device (like an iPhone) that it's really a charger and someone's not hacking/modding like me. That's my question. I've heard that I need 2 22k ohm resistors and 2 33k. Where does that all get put into play? Anyone in electronics can help me?
I'm going to a music festival and will be taking my iPhone 4(I know shouldnt take phones ect but I'm taking mine) and I will need to keep it charged, I'm going for 5 days, I need some sort of portable charger that will help keep it alive for those days, A battery powered one would be helpful(AA, AAA ECT) I will only have my phone on at night and will only be texting, any help? Okay so about a month ago me and my brother got iPhone 4S's. We had our numbers transferred from our old phones to the iPhones. We got them in the mail, got them registered and set up and everything. I recently got a Snapchat, and a friend asked me why my Snapchat name was my brother's name.
(I'm gonna use example names. I'll be John Smith and my brother will be Mike Smith.)
I looked on his Snapchat and sure enough, I'm Mike Smith on Snapchat. I checked to see if this was occurring anywhere else and it is over a few things. It's really annoying that I pop up as my brother's name everywhere. So if anyone can help me out with this I'd really appreciate it.
For others there's a button to press when you double click the home key. I do not have this button. Is there any other way to 1) stop the screen from rotating or 2) get a button?
