My friend bought a iphone 4 from Apple recently after it had came out way back when… Around Christmas in 2012, I bought it from him and activated it at Verizon, while we didn't buy the warranty from Verizon, the guy mentioned that if it was within a year of activation IPhone could replace it. Is this true? If it helps I live in Northern Virginia

I was a filming a bad storm yesterday and lightning would strike and send like a wave or static thing across my phone. I guess interference or something. Did this damage it?
When I email myself the videos from my iphone, and I open the video it won't play because it says "Windows Media Player can't play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." if I try and open it in a different way it still won't work. Any help?
