Will updating my iphone 4 to ios 6 will disable its carrier unlock?

My Iphone 4 is currently running on ios 4.3.3 and I wish to update it to the new os (the ios 6), but don't want to lose its carrier unlock. I don't actually know if its an official factory unlock or what but what I know is that the Iphone is not jailbreaked (So If I assume right, Is it really a factory unlock and won't be affected by any update?). Please give the answers not involving a jailbreak.

My iphone 5 is receiving messages late?

I bought a new iphone 5 through straight talk yesterday and got it all set up.well normally every morning a friend of mine will text me to tell me god morning.today i didn't get any good morning text so i texted them.moments after i sent the text a text came in saying good morning from my friend but she said she had sent it at 8:30ish and it was 9:30 or so. It looks like it didn't revive the text until after it texted her first is there some reason for this? (oh also i'm receiving texts on time now it just didn't deliver a text till i texted first this morning.)

Lock button on iPhone 5 playing up?

I've had my iPhone 5 since Christmas and recently the lock button has started to play up. Sometimes it doesn't work at all and other times I have to press it a few times before it does lock the screen, I can't turn my phone off either because it won't work when I hold the button in, anyone know what's wrong with it. The phone was brought from the 3 shop, shall I take it back there or to the apple shop? Will it cost me anything for them to fix?

IPhone 4 disconnected from phone line?

I disconnected my iPhone from sprint about 4 months now but my iMessage and Facetime work with Wi-Fi. Last night I tried to send an iMessage to my husband and it wouldn't send. It would try to send as a text message and fail. I tried everything even reset the iPhone and iMessge won't work it the Internet works fine. Then my husband told me that someone else iMessaged him back saying they just got that phone number the same one I use for iMessage. What's going on? How can I fix it?

Free C/C++ compiler for iPhone?

I have recently gotten interested in programming. I'm quite good at programming in Lua, but I would like to learn other languages as well. I want to start out with C/C++ but I can't find any free compilers for the iPhone. There's a paid one, and I'm willing to get it if there are no free ones. Anyone know of one?

What's better to use in Iphone: Home button or Sleep/Wake button?

I recently discovered the "Assistive touch" feature in the Iphone and it is a good substitute for all the physical functions of the Iphone including the home button, I've been using it instead of the home button for closing apps and other stuffs.

My problem is that I used the Sleep/Wake Button whenever I want to turn the screen of the Iphone ON so I can used the "Assistive touch" button on the screen, does the Sleep/Wake button wear faster than the Home button or is it the other way around? Does using "Assistive touch" instead of the Home button a good move or not?

then before going APPLE STORE, i restore (uninstall jailbreak) my iphone.

now what about my warranty?
