I'm going to get my daughter the new iPhone for Christmas, she already has the 4. How can she be able to use the iPhone 5 as soon as she opens it Chritmas Day? Can we just put the sim card in, then use?

Ok so i have an iPhone 4s and so does my little annoying 13 year old brother. I have a feeling that he somehow goes through my text messages through someone else phone.somehow he knows my conversations and i know that he can't get it directly through my phone. Is there a way i can out a stop to this. Any privacy settings. Please help. I'm 18 years old and he is only 13 and i have no privacy at all.
I got a new iPhone 5 a couple of weeks ago. I synced my music library onto it and it was working perfectly. Then my friend changed my passcode and couldn't remember it. So I had to reset it (wasn't a big deal because I had only had it for a few days.) I re downloaded my apps and programmed some contacts, but iTunes doesn't recognize it when it is plugged into my computer for charging. It charges it, but doesn't appear on the iTunes menu bar. I want to download my songs back onto it, but can't without it on the menu. How do I fix this?
It seems like the iPhone 5 haven't becomed as popular as the iPhone 4S. In stores they only sell iPhone 4/4S cases and people isn't talking very much about the 5.
So. 1. Why isn't the iPhone 5 more popular? Do you think it's because it isn't enough different from the iPhone 4S?
