I can't really afford a new one, so my friend offered to give me his old iphone 6s that was on verizon but he switched to sprint and got a new phone. I'm wondering if it is possible to put my cricket sim card in his old phone and it would work?

Okay so I got my 6 (used) around Christmas time. 1-2 months in and there were no connection problems. Around 2 weeks ago the signal began to dropoff from my family room, and slowly began to deteriorate as days went by. Now I can't connect to my main Wi-Fi network unless I'm like a foot away. I solved the problem by simply connecting to the 5g network, however the same problem applies anywhere else. I can't connect to any of my friends Wi-Fi since it is not 5g, and I was wondering if there's any solution to this.
