Problem connecting to Wi-Fi on iPhone 5s?

When I try to connect to a new Wi-Fi that's just been set up in my house, my iPhone attempts to connect to it, but it keeps giving a swirling loading sign. I've waited for about 20 minutes for it, but it won't work. I've forgotten the network and reconnected to it, but it still doesn't work. What should I do to fix it? I know I typed the password in correctly.

Try turning it off and on.

Try to do:
Restart your iOS device.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware.

1. Try using a different security encryption: if using AES, try TKIP or vice-versa. (Review the Wi-Fi security settings that the old router used. Make sure your new one uses something similar.)

2. You don't need to blur (or hide) your SSID name from us. Only your immediate neighbors can see your SSID, and you can't be hacked via the Internet by knowing your SSID name.
