Safari won't allow me to play youtube video in background or when phone is locked?
I used to be able to. When I try playing the video after going to home screen (I have an iphone) and press play, it just plays music from apple music. Is there any way I can play youtube videos in background or when phone js locked? I would appreciate it. I can't find anything online where someone has the same problem:/
You probably manipulated your phone somehow. Try subscribing to YouTube red
YT wants you to subscribe to YT Red, so they're doing whatever they can to prevent you from playing videos in the background.
I've only tried this on Android using Firefox, so I don't know if it works on iOS, but: Request the desktop version of YT. This gets the job done, but navigating the desktop version on a phone isn't very good.
- YouTube won't play in background? IPhone 4? I have an iPhone 4 and I can't get my YouTube to play in the background like when I hit the home button it turns off or when I lock it and press play it will play from my album from iTunes. I use the YouTube app. How can I get it to work?

I'm aware of how you are supposed to do it (double click home button then click play) but it just plays songs from my music library? My cousins phone does it so why doesn't mine we have the same phone aswell.
