You can turn it off so the other person doesn't know when its delivered/read.

Most likely under settings, but iMessage is not yet activated, which is a IOS BUG in IOS. Another reason it can be not working is because it may not have internet, and the imessage may not have been downloaded to your phone yet.
Btw, blue means iMessage, so it's not sending by your carrier, it's sending by internet, so the problem lies in either imessage or your internet.
- Will my message be delivered if sent as text message on iphone? My friend said that she was having phone problems earlier today. My message was being sent as an imessage, but I guess she wasn't receiving everyone of them, just getting the notifications that they were sent to her but she couldn't read them. I then responded to her, but it was sent as a text message this time and i have gotten no response.
