Should I pay the deductible to replace my stolen iPhone 5?

My iPhone 5 was stolen today, and I was wondering if I should pay the $170 deductible to replace it when I'm just gonna get the iPhone 5S next month anyway.

More than likely Apple will come out with a plastic low cost iPhone 5 next month and the resell value of the iPhone 5 won't be much more that the cost I would pay for the deductible.

should I wait to get the 5S, or just pay the deductible and sell the phone next month and pay the remaining $650 + tax for the gold 5S?

Don't know

Iain the same position-what is insurance for? Mine was stolen, and I get a new phone in Oct-why should I pay the $149 ded?

  • Why is there a $175 deductible to replace my iPhone 5s on T-Mobile? I have the JUMP! Program for insurance. In this program, T-Mobile's website states that you can replace your device for free, so long as you file a damage report. Accidental damage is included. If it's "free," why the $175 deductible?! That's pricy for a deductible…
  • Why do we have to pay full price to replace a lost sprint iphone? My bestfriend is on a plan with her boyfriend and she lost the phone. Today she had to pay 728 to get a new one. I know that sprint does not cover lost phones but why can't we pay regular price to replace the lost ones
  • Verizon Insurance Deductible? I have been paying a $10 fee every month for insurance on my white iPhone 4. I dropped it in water today and took it to the store and the employee gave me information to go home and make my claim online. But they are charging a $169 deductible. Do I have to pay that? Is it refundable? I have been paying the $10 a month so I do not see why I have to pay for a new phone
