Should technology be illegal?

This probably sounds ridiculous to the majority of you, but think about it for a second… Technology has really changed the way we operate as people, I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I'm DEFINITELY not saying it's a good thing. We spend so much time looking down at our iPhones, not even noticing the world around us, you know, what's really going on. I'm not trying to sound pretentious here, since I'm guilty as charged as well… But I've seriously considered cutting technology out of my life for good, then I realized that I wouldn't be able to (not because I'm addicted, but because everything runs on technology in the 21st century, that would just be a bad move). So instead I wondered, what if we didn't have access to these luxuries (phones, computers, TVs)? I mean, humans got by for 2,000,000 years without all of it. Your great grandparents got by without all of it… And I'll bet their lives were 100x more productive than yours.

Added (1). Lol sorry, I'm a little sleep deprived so that probably wasn't the best reference… What I meant was: I've got the technology at hand, so I'm not to waste it, I'm going to use it to reach out and get your opinions, but I think it would be a lot nicer if we didn't have any of this.

I would rather it not exist. I think that way too many people have lost touch with the "real world", connection to nature, how to communicate with people in the flesh, are raised in a world run by technology and sadly know no different. I remember life before "the Internet" and it is a huge difference in people from then and people now, and truth be told. It is for the worse. My son is 12 years old, a honor roll student, has real, in the flesh friends, spend his leisurely time outdoors, playing with friends, practicing his Archery skills on targets, making bird houses, riding his bike, fishing, canoeing, building a tree house with his uncle, practicing playing the piano, playing baseball, spending time with his grandaddy working on cars, camping, Boy Scouts, and much much more, all the while never asking for nor needing any connection to this Internet world. I have seen kids around his age, say that they would not know what to do with themselves if there were no Internet! The world is getting pretty bad and the truth is, the Internet is not making it any better! There's so much filth at young ones fingertips today, and parents who could care less about supervising their children and keeping them safe from this muck, it is frightening to think about what the world will be like, when everyone on it was raised in that manner. I'm so glad I could see the world before this craze! I have seen what it has done…
