Songs on iPhone won't play and are greyed out?
When I go to my iPod on my iPhone 4 (OS 7.0.3), and tap on a random song to play, it will be greyed out, with the downloading circle next to it, and the next song is played instead. When I plug it into my iTunes and try to sync the songs again, this will resolve the problem for that song, but another song gets greyed out when I try to play it. Is this because I upgraded the OS? How do I permanently fix this?
It sounds like you sync music over from iTunes. In that case you will want to check iTunes itself. This greying out is usually due to either iTunes or the phone not being able to find the file.
Open up iTunes and check the iTunes library by individual songs. Are all the songs checked? Are some greyed our or have an "!" next to them. If they are greyed out or have an "!" it means iTunes can't find the song on your computer. The file may of been moved or deleted. You will have to find the song file itself on your hard drive and put it back into the iTunes library.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth greyed out after water damage on iPhone 5S? I dropped my iPhone 5S in water. I didn't have anything to dry it with, but a towel.
