Sony HDR-CX405 HD Handycam Problems?

What settings should i have it on? Because when i'm trying to video tape it its HORRIBLE QUALITY! It's supposedly on high definiton but it looks worse than the iphone 4 camera! So for you people out there that make videos what setting should i have it on?
rec mode: fx, hq, fh or lp?
frame rate: 60i or 60p
dual video rec: on or off?
file format: avchd or xavc s hd
image size: ?

If you're not going to read the manual:
Auto.
FX.
60p.
Video quality not impacted.
Either.
That's for still images, not video.

We can't see what you see. We don't know what you're playing the video back on. We don't know what media player you're using.

Tips:
1) Add light.
2) Use a tripod or other steadying equipment - never handheld.

So what are using to view the videos? THAT might be the problem, not your camera.

What file type are you shooting?

MP4 for easy uploads to youtube.
AVCHD for editing - what I use with my cameras
XAVC only for edting systems so equipped

Camera should deliver excellent video.

What do you mean by "horrible quality" - blurry, too light, too dark, wrong colours etc? Without knowing this we can't tell what's causing it.

  • Wi-Fi Disabled on Sony Vaio? All of the wireless connections on my Sony Vaio laptop are disabled. It will not recognize any connections. It says there aren't any available. There are connections available because I'm using my Wi-Fi connection on my Apple TV and iPhone. I have turned on the switch on the computer to enable the Wi-Fi but it won't work. The network adapter is also enabled.
  • Why is my iPhone 4 still taking HDR photos when I turned HDR option OFF? I selected "turn HDR OFF" after selecting "options" on my camera screen. I also turn off the option in my settings that says " save normal photo in addition of HDR photo" BUT my iPhone is still taking HDR pics… So frustrating! Can someone help please?
  • Which Camera to Buy: Sony WX350 or Sony WX220? I'm looking to purchase a camera for my upcoming vacation. I currently use my iPhone 6 to take all my photos and want something a little better. I have done some research and it seems like Sony makes pretty good cameras. The most important factors to me are image quality and price. I'm looking to spend $220 max. Please let me know which of the two you would recommend, unless you there's something else better.
  • Where are the normal pics when HDR is on? I have an iPhone 4s and have HDR on and to save the normal picture and can't figure out how to see the normal picture. Where does the camera store these?
